We are small
batch coffee roasters with a passion for
excellence in all we do. Our goal is to
provide the freshest consistent coffee
beans delivered to your door. We have
two retail locations in Gatlinburg, TN
the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains
National Park. Our roasting facility
supplies our internet based sales as
well as both Coffee shops. This gives us
the ability to provide you the freshest
roasted coffee available.
Coffee & Company was originally birthed out of a Gourmet Nut Company called Nuts Landing which was a cute spin-off of the popular 1980’s show Knot’s Landing. Nuts Landing, which later became Coffee & Company.
The
Peterson family purchased Coffee &
Company in the fall of 2003. Upon
purchasing the company, we updated the
coffee shop and made a number of
improvements. Wanting to control quality
and freshness of their product the
Petersons started roasting coffee in 2005.
Jeanette Peterson has had a passion for
coffee from the time of her youth. From
her teen years in South Florida to her
Barista year in a Manhattan Pastry shop,
coffee has been in her blood. Jeanette's
husband Richard Peterson is a huge
supporter and helps with everything from
roasting to handling payroll. Their
daughter Chelsea now is a full time
employee and has quite the business
head. Their two sons, Derek and Dustin,
are both in are adults living their
lives well.
The Peterson’s are not newcomers to the business arena or the coffee business. Until their move to Gatlinburg in 2002, they owned and operated several outgrowths of Jeanette’s passion for coffee for 10 years in NW Illinois. Upon the families arrival to the region, Jeanette continued in her field as a certified Barista at Starbucks Coffee Company in Sevierville, TN. While it was a great experience for her, she definitely missed the creative process that she enjoyed as a business owner. Through a mutual friend, Jeanette and family closed the deal September 11th, 2003.
